A question I’ve been asking myself several times. When trying to find my own explanation I found a metaphor I really like. It shows the complexity to explain the term “The Gutknecht” in some simple words: Imagine a passenger plane – let’s take an Airbus A380 – being able to carry about 700 people. And now you want to find a parking slot for this tremendous plane. I’m sure everybody agrees that it is definitely not possible to park the A380 in a usual garage built for a car everybody is driving. Maybe this shows how we think about explaining “The Gutknecht” in some few sentences.

But now let’s get more concrete about finding a definition. The central element everything is about is music. It is the connection of emotions, feelings, friendship, life, experiences, understanding, questions and answers. Yes – and I’m really proud being able to claim the following: “The Gutknecht” offers a place to feel, explain, experience, understand and live out exactly these connection – namely music.
To be honest, it is even more: Just take a look at our latest project making a video for our new song. It shows how we can expand our slavery to goodness (this is what “Gutknecht” means in German) merging different people (musicians, photographers, filmmakers, actors, friends), cultures, interests and characters to one precious treasure – a song being affected by so many, many things.
And the best: The Gutknecht offers a chance for every individual to thrive and prosper in all different situations of live with the help of each other and with the help of a language everybody speaks – the music.

Windhaag Cantat
Choir
This amazing choir, that has been founded in 1976 and has been named “Windhaag Cantat” since the year 2000, is a great pleasure for the Gutknecht. The 52 members with their great choirmaster Toni Neulinger really like to join different projects. And so they did in our first song “perfect game”. Now there is another project called “in claustro windhaagiano”, that is a spiritual choral inspired by sacral music of the 12th and 13th century.

Joachim Davy
Videoknecht
Joachim has a great feeling for different perspectives and is a great visualizer. he impressed us with his work so he became a ‘musician’ of the Gutknecht with his individual pictures. Horizon’s essay has been the first music video of Joachim and we are lucky that it was not the last one.
Dominik Lengauer
Photoknecht
Dominik is a great photographer. we met him when we were looking for somebody to make pictures during the video production. moreover he took all the pictures for our new homepage and did the cover shooting for our new song. he learned to take photos while traveling in iceland with a photographer he met there.
